Christian Education

Go, make disciples, baptizing and teaching...” Jesus’ words are the primary guiding mandate for Christian education at Crossroad.

Christian education is at the very heart of the church. In the educational process, the Spirit of God encounters people of all ages so that they are nurtured in faith, grow in knowledge and experience, and are inspired and empowered to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. This call to discipleship compels us to share our faith and serve others in the home, the community and the world.

Through Education ministry we have the privilege and opportunity to mobilize others to teach the faith and nurture developing disciples.

Education begins on Sunday at 9:15

  • Sunday School for Pre-K through 6th Grade
  • Confirmation for Middle Schoolers
  • High School Youth Sunday School
  • Adult Small Groups

Christian education is so much more than acquiring a basic knowledge of the Bible and Jesus’ teachings.  It’s about learning to talk, act and live as one of Jesus’ disciples today — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year - to be witnesses in speech and in action of God’s rich mercy in Jesus Christ.

It’s about relationships; nurturing people’s discovery of who God is in their lives and discovering the gift of a community in which faith is shared, lives are touched and care is experienced.  It’s life-long, a journey in faith  formation for the youngest to the oldest of Jesus’ disciples.

It happens beyond the classroom in worship, in small groups, through acts of service; home activities and devotions; youth group and confirmation; and in the midst of daily life.
